A caregiver is being held on $80,000 bail on charges that he sexually assaulted a disabled woman in her Southside apartment Saturday.

Police arrested 32-year-old Jason P. Brown Sunday after he allegedly exposed himself to and molested a cerebral palsy-stricken woman on the 2400 block of Dwight Way.

"The guy took advantage of her," said Berkeley police Inspector Arnold Lui.

Brown assaulted the 29-year-old victim, who is confined to a wheelchair and cannot communicate verbally, between 9:30 and 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Lui said.

Brown allegedly fondled the victim's breasts and penetrated her vagina with a foreign object.

Lui said the victim and her roommate were inside the roommate's bedroom when the victim was assaulted.

Brown had first exposed his penis to the pair even though they told him they did not want to see it, Lui said.

The assault was reported to police at 3:37 p.m. Sunday.
