Notwist

Neon Goldent

[City Slang Records]

1. "Neon Golden" and objectivism

In the works of the Notwist, a predominant concept is that of capitalist art. If Lyotardist narrative holds, we have to choose between presemiotic dialectic theory and postcultural textual theory. In other words, German people are weird. Same with the French.

The example of prepatriarchialist Marxism prevalent in the Notwist's "Neon Golden" is also evident in fast food. In a sense, synth pop implies that we have to choose between expressionism and neocapitalist deconstruction. It's funny that people don't think that Madonna is very good. Except for Camille Paglia, obviously.

An abundance of discourses concerning a self-referential reality may be discovered. Therefore, Marx uses the term 'Lyotardist narrative' to denote the role of the reader as writer. If expressionism holds, we have to choose between Lyotardist narrative and Foucaultist power relations. In a sense, the main theme of electronic music's critique of presemiotic dialectic theory is a textual paradox. People should just be listening to New Order anyway.

2. Expressionism and reality

"Class is meaningless," says Lacan; however, according to the Notwist, it is not so much class that is meaningless, but rather the absurdity, and subsequent futility, of class. Therefore, the subject is contextualised into a paradigm of consensus that includes culture as a whole. But the weird thing is that people are dumb, and no one seems to REALLY know this but me.

"Neon Golden" suggests that the works of Tarantino and German idealism are an example of mythopoetical synthpop. However, if presemiotic dialectic theory holds, we have to choose between textual narrative and subconceptualist nihilism.

The characteristic theme of Tarantino's works is the fatal flaw, and thus the failure of so-called "Intelligent Dance Musics", of capitalist consciousness. Therefore, we can assume that a dichotomy exists between "Neon Golden" and predialectic theory.
