A man claiming to have a gun robbed a South Berkeley credit union Wednesday morning-a mere two days after an armed-takeover at the same place, police said.

In the latest incident, the robber demanded money from a teller at the Cooperative Center Federal Credit Union about 10 a.m., said Berkeley police Lt. Cynthia Harris.

No gun was seen, and the man left with an undisclosed sum of money, Harris said.

Harris said the two robberies do not appear to be connected.

"It's an unfortunate coincidence," she said.

The man who committed the latest robbery is described as a clean-shaven black male, in his mid-20s to early-30s, between 5 feet 8 and 5 feet 10 inches tall, with an athletic build and thin lips.
