Q: Hello sweetheart. Do you speak English?

A: A little.

Excellent. Where are you from?

Shanghai, China.

Wow. Why are you so far from home?

I'm visiting with my father.

Is this your first time in Berkeley?

What are you doing while you're here?

I'm staying for five months and I will go to school.

What do you think of Berkeley?

It's beautiful. It's different from Shanghai. There are no skyscrapers, but it's beautiful scenery. I like hiking.

What's your favorite part about Chinese New Year?

It's very good. I like the fireworks.
