Cal senior flanker John Taylor not only secured his fourth national championship in four years at Cal, but did it in style.

The Bears rugby squad's team captain was named the Most Valuable Player of the four-team national championship tournament this past weekend in Tampa, Fla. In addition to directing his team to a 49-19 win over Army in the semifinal match Saturday and a 62-16 blowout of Wyoming in the final Sunday, Taylor scored two tries on the weekend.

The London native's score against the Cowboys was one of the most spectacular tries of the tournament. He took the ball off a line-out near Wyoming's end-line and bulled his way through the Cowboys' tacklers for the score, blunting a 10-0 Wyoming run.
