After four years as coach of the Cal women's lacrosse team, Theresa Sherry has decided to step down.
The team, which was reinstated in February after initially being cut in September, is coming off a 9-8 campaign that ended with Friday's 20-11 loss to Stanford in the MPSF Tournament semifinals. The Bears were 34-38 overall under Sherry, who joined the program for the 2007 season as an assistant and was elevated to head coach the next year.
Sherry was named the conference's coach of the year in her first season, when Cal went 9-9 (4-1 in the MPSF).
