Update: The district attorney's office has chosen to not file charges against the remaining three protesters from March 2.

Fourteen protesters of the 17 arrested in the March 2 Wheeler Hall sit-in were charged on misdemeanors Monday afternoon, according to Deputy District Attorney Teresa Drenick.

Eleven protesters were charged on a single count of trespassing by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Three were charged on both trespassing and obstructing a peace officer, after allegedly having to be carried out of Wheeler Hall by the police in order to be arrested.

The three remaining March 2 protesters who were arrested and booked for trespassing have yet to be charged, as do those involved in the March 3 protest. The district attorney's office will decide whether or not to bring charges against them later this week, according to Drenick.

Clarification: A previous version of this article may have implied that the remaining three protesters will be charged later in the week. In fact, the district attorney must still decide whether or not to press charges.
