The Cal rugby team kept its perfect record in tact on Saturday, tearing through six matches at the UCLA Tournament in Los Angeles.

Through the first three matches of the day, the Bears (7-0) held their opponents scoreless. The morning began with a 31-0 victory over USC, followed by a 45-0 decision over Oregon and a 54-0 trouncing of Washington State.

Arizona was the first team to score against coach Jack Clark's battalion, earning three points five minutes into the second half. Two minutes later, sophomore Andre Coquillard returned the favor with a penalty kick of his own. The Wildcats were shut out for the remainder of the match.

Coquillard and sophomore Josh Tucker accounted for all of Cal's 22 points against Arizona. Tucker finished with a hat trick, while Coquillard made two conversions and the aforementioned penalty kick.

In what was expected to be a hard-fought battle against Utah, the Bears held the Utes scoreless while putting up 34 points of their own. Senior James Bailes made a penalty kick five minutes in for the match's first points. Bailes made three conversions, the final two coming after Dustin Muhn's tries toward the end of the match.

Though convincingly holding off Utah, Cal really had to battle host UCLA in the day's final match. The Bruins jumped out to a 7-0 lead early, but the Bears led at halftime 14-7.

UCLA's five points scored in the twenty-sixth minute were the only of the second half. Cal able to hold on to secure the 14-12 win and a date with the Bruins on Sunday in the finals.

It marks the sixth straight year the Bears have made it to the tournament's final match. Cal will square off against UCLA at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.
