Three days after falling to No. 13 Stanford in a heartbreaking upset, the No. 7 Cal women's tennis team bounced back with an upset of its own.

Taylor Ormond of No. 5 Baylor defeated the Bears' Mari Andersson in three sets in the final match of the day at Hellman Tennis Complex, but by then it didn't matter. Cal had already clinched the overall win with a commanding second-set performance from freshman Stephany Chang on court six, as her 7-6 (3), 6-0 defeat of Kasia Siwosz on court six gave the Bears their fourth and decisive point of the match.

Cal improved to 9-2 overall with its 4-3 win over the visiting Lady Bears.

Baylor started the day off strong by taking the doubles point, but the Golden Bears countered by winning two of the first three singles matches. No. 23 Bojana Bobusic defeated Csilla Borsanyi, 6-0, 6-1, while freshman Jana Juricova dropped only two games in a straight-sets win of her own on court one.

Senior Claire Ilcinkas then swung the match into Cal's favor by rebounding from a tough first set to take the next two over Jelena Stanviuk (2-6, 6-2, 6-2), setting up Chang's match-clincher.

The Bears have the rest of the week off before traveling to Texas on Friday for a dual match against the Longhorns at 1:30 p.m.
