Three Berkeley residents were arrested September 25 in connection with the fatal August shooting of a Modesto resident.
A total of six people, including the victim's wife, were arrested because police say they were involved with the killing of Karl Johnson, 39, of Modesto.
Berkeley residents Carol Johnson, 51, and Dasheme Hosley, 30, were arrested in Modesto and charged with murder, according to a statement from the Modesto Police Department. Johnson was also arrested for conspiracy.
Carol Laverne Johnson was the wife of Karl Johnson, said Modesto police Lt. Ron Cloward.
Deleon Hosley, 28, also a Berkeley resident, was arrested the same day in El Sobrante for conspiracy and parole violation, police said.
In coordination with the local law enforcement agencies, Modesto police departments executed numerous search warrants in Berkeley, Hayward, San Leandro and Oakland Thursday.
Cloward said he could not elaborate on the circumstances of the shooting or the arrests because the homicide was still under investigation.
Johnson, shot early in the morning on August 30, was declared dead at the hospital, police said.
