Not even playing down two men could prevent the Cal rugby team from capturing its third win with a margin of victory of 100 or more.

Two Bears - freshman scrumhalf Paul Bosco and sophomore inside center Jared Braun - went down with injuries in the second half of Saturday's 100-0 win against UCLA in Los Angeles. By that time in the game, coach Jack Clark had already used the maximum amount of substitutions. He brought his reserves onto the pitch at the beginning of the second half due to Cal's commanding lead. The Bears were up 57-0 halftime.

When Bosco left, senior wing Dustin Muhn moved over to play scrumhalf, and Cal played a man down for 10 minutes, and finished the game with 13 players after Braun exited. Still the Bruins failed to score.

Prior to changing positions, Muhn notched a hat trick, with his final try coming to end the first half. Junior wing James McTurk also found the try zone thrice. Former Bruin Blaine Scully scored twice in the first half, and sophomore hooker Jake Wrobel opened the second frame with back-to-back scores.

After junior flyhalf Alex Aronson scored and converted his own try, sophomore lock Brendan Daly followed up Wrobel's effort with consecutive tries. Aronson converted both Wrobel and Daly's second tries, finishing with three conversions on the day. His counterpart in the first frame, senior James Bailes, nailed his first six conversion attempts, but missed his last three.

Out of the four College Premier Division teams the Bears have face, Cal has shut out all of them except Central Washington. Clark's squad will look to extend rate to four out of five on Sunday when it takes on the Claremont Colleges.

The Bears will square off against the Dragons, who have yet to win a league match, at noon at Linde Athletic Field in Claremont, Calif.
