The Cal women's golf team dropped two spots to 13th place on day two of the PING/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz.

The Bears are gridlocked in a tie with Tulsa, which is led by individual score leader Kristina Merkle (seven-under).

Cal shot a 303, seven strokes worse than its day one score, to bring its total to 599 -- effectively making a top 10 finish near impossible.

Sophomore Joanne Lee finished with a 74 to tie for 18th place individually with a total score of 144.

Senior Roseanne Niven and junior Pia Halbig both shot 76s, tying for 45th place individually with scores of 150.

Freshman Jacqueline Williams, the only Bear to improve on her first round score, closed the round with a 77 to tie for 71st individually.

Sophomore Emily Childs finished the second round with an eight-over par (80) to make her total score 158 and tie for the 78th individual spot.

Arizona State retains the lead with a total score of 565, six strokes ahead of second place UCLA.

The tournament resumes today for its third and final round on Sunday at 7:30 a.m.
