Bears Sweep Four Races at Redwood Shores

Cal men's crew's varsity eight did its part to hold onto USRowing's No. 1 ranking this weekend, winning its only appearance of the weekend at Redwood Shores with a time of 5:42.
The varsity boat beat out the Bears' second varsity eight by six seconds and No. 15 Oregon State by 12 seconds.
Cal's boats actually won all four races that they competed in against the Beavers, UC Davis and Santa Clara. The Bears' novice eight turned in a time of 5:51 to beat out UC Davis, while the third varsity eight edged the Broncos by five seconds with a time of 5:58.
Cal now has the week to prepare for Pac-10 opponent Washington. The two powerhouses will meet on April 25 at Montlake Cut in Seattle, Wash.
